Although unbeaten in three consecutive weeks at the German top-flight football, Mainz 05 are currently placed just outside the top six. They debuted in the new season with two back-to-back stalemates before they finally scored their very first win of the season at the expense of Hertha BSC. Shinji Okazaki netted a brace which he delivered on both halves. Sami Allagui also figured prominently in the match, thanks to Junior Diaz’s superb pass. Borussia Dortmund, meanwhile, have successfully turned their deficit around by winning their last two Bundesliga matches and put their frustrating season opener behind memory. Additionally, they recently made a successful rally against Arsenal, the English club they trounced at the Group stage of the Champions League.

Football betting tip: Mainz will incur a three-point loss at the hands of Dortmund.

Wolfsburg vs. Bayer Leverkusen

Match Date: 21 September 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Volkswagen Arena

Wolfsburg have yet to earn their first victory of the season as they have spent the past three weeks without any significant improvement in their form and score sheet. They debuted in the tournament with a loss from defending champions Bayern Munich and followed it up with back-to-back draws against Frankfurt and Hoffenheim. They currently rank 13th in the league table. By contrast, Bayer Leverkusen have spent their first three weeks of the new season with two impressive victories and one highly entertaining draw. They already accumulated nine goals in just three appearances, putting them (as with the past weeks) at the front of the line in both total points and goal difference.

Sports betting tip: Bayer Leverkusen will keep their slate clean by thumping Wolfsburg with a significant lead.

FC Cologne vs. Borussia Monchengladbach

Replicating (almost) their performance at the start of the new Bundesliga season, Cologne made it even with Paderborn in their faceoff just a few days ago. The sides held the entirety of the match in a deadlock and scored zero goals apiece. This quite contrasts Die Geißböcke’s performance last week when they thrashed Stuttgart in a clean sheet and ranked fourth in the table (they suffered a five-place plummet this week). Monchengladbach, by comparison, sealed their third Bundesliga tourney with a rousing 4-1 thumping at Schalke 04. It was their first victory of the new season as they have been held in a draw twice in the earlier weeks. The success enabled them to rise from the 11th spot on third week to the fifth place in the fourth (current) week.

Online betting tip: Monchengladbach will dominate over Cologne.
