A first-half goal from Maxim Alexandru gave Stuttgart the early lead against Borussia M’gladbach in their opening match for the new season of Bundesliga. However, this was later equalized by Christoph Kramer in the dying seconds of the tourney and eventually sealed the final tally in a draw. The sole point picked up from the fixture placed Die Roten in the middle of the league, just enough to keep them adrift of the relegation zone but not too strong to place them within the rankings’ elite spots. Cologne, meanwhile, avoided a minnow stance in their return to the German top-flight league as they successfully held Hamburg in a goalless draw. The defense was terrific and their performances in the air were quite impressive. However, they would need more developed skills in finishing scoring chances to secure goals.

Football betting tip: Stuttgart will earn all the marbles against Cologne.

Werder Bremen vs. Hoffenheim

Match Date: 30 August 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Weser-Stadion

While both Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim scored two goals apiece in their respective season debuts, the latter pulled off the more agreeable final results. Hoffenheim currently top the league rankings following a brilliant clean sheet they inflicted against Augsburg 2-0. Die Werderaner, by comparison, only obtained one point from their battle against Hertha Berlin as their two goals (from Lukimya and Di Santo) were both equalizers to Schieber’s first-half brace. This put them in the top 10’s lower half, level on points and goal difference with three other powerhouses. While Hoffenheim take refuge in their excellent ability to finish chances as well as in counter attacking, Bremen show a promising degree of resilience—although they would need serious improvements in avoiding offside and preventing their foes from creating chances.

Online betting tip: Hoffenheim will make it two wins in a row by defeating Werder Bremen in this face-off.
