Week highlights

Paris Saint Germain (PSG) was unable to continue its winning start last weekend. After dominating the match against Caen, the defending champion was forced to settle for yet another stalemate this season and this time around, it was against Toulouse.

Toulouse scored in as early as the 8th minute, thanks to Wissam Ben Yedder. However, PSG scored the equalizer on the 33rd courtesy of Jean Cristophe Bahebeck. The current titleholder had all the opportunities to steal the spotlight, but a resilient and determined Toulouse, prevented them from doing so.

Meanwhile, Marseille continues to be a dominant force in the top-flight league. The club scored a narrow win against Saint Etienne, with the result ending in 2-1.

But if there is any club, which readily featured in the match, this is the newly-promoted Metz.

Metz readily humiliated Reims when their encounter ended in a commanding 3-0 with Juan Manuel Falcon scoring a brace to put the squad on top.

Scene-stealers

Apparently, this one goes to Metz. The said win increased their chances of making it to the league’s elite despite the presence of bigger and more veteran clubs.

The blunders

Certainly, a draw for PSG is far from being impressive. Thriving on stalemates readily weakens the club’s ability to defend its title.

What to expect

Many are of course expecting the sports betting site favorite, PSG to step up its game. But Marseille, who has already found its place on the league table’s top spot will less likely to allow the defending champion to recover.
