AS Monaco-Falcao

Recap

After two (2) consecutive defeats, AS Monaco has finally stepped out of the losing streak. Although they are still lingering at the bottom of the table, they were able to find new hope when they secured the upper-hand against Nantes.

Radamel Falcao took the hero’s goal during the said match. The prolific striker has been suffering from a goal drought since incurring an injury last season. The said injury was also the reason behind his failure to represent Colombia during the recently concluded, World Cup. Yet, all those scoring woes are now gone as the man often dubbed as El Matador is back on his scoring spree.

But AS Monaco is not the only squad that caught the attention of many. The defending champion and online betting favorite, Paris Saint Germain was forced to settle in another stalemate. But this time around, it was against the struggling Evian Thonon Gaillard. It was a big break for the minnows, yet an unlucky blow to the incumbent titleholder.

Meanwhile, SM Caen is also causing a stir in the top-flight league. The newly-promoted squad had its taste of redemption when it emerged as the victorious side against Reims.

Title contenders, Lille and Saint Etienne were also making noise during the first three matches. Both squad sport 2 wins and a draw.

Lastly, there is Bordeaux, which easily swept its opponents in all of its matches.

Scene-stealers

El Matador, of course, was the main man last week. His goal was the first and last for Monaco during the said encounter.

Evidently, Bordeaux was the scene-stealer of all scene-stealers. Willy Sagnol and his men have yet to experience defeat this season.

The blunders

PSG’s current performance has not been meeting expectations. In Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s absence, many are hoping that Edinson Cavani will exploit such opportunity to feature in the club.

What to expect

Ibra will remain sidelined to pave way for his recovery. In PSG’s next match, Yohan Cabaye will not feature after getting a booking.

Lastly, many of Evian’s supporters are positive that they will be able to clinch their first win this season.
