Ligue 1 Transfer Rumours: Cavani To Enter Man United, Hazard Returns To Ligue 1

Updated: May 20, 2014

Several key figures of the French League are bound to enter the England’s top-flight league. However, certain Premier League stars are also keen on making it to France. Find out who they are here:

Serge Aurier

Toulouse’s trusted full-back, Serge Aurier is on the verge of setting his foot on Emirates stadium. The Ivorian star is said to be the perfect replacement for Arsenal’s Bacary Sagna.

After spending seven (7) years with the Gunners, Sagna is off to sign a lucrative contract with the newly crowned Premier League champion, Manchester City.

According to reports, the Gunners have already prepared a £7M deal for Aurier and were eager to seal the deal prior to the upcoming 2014 World Cup.

When asked about his reaction, Aurier explained that Arsenal’s offer is simply irresistible. He added that he is swayed by the club’s rich history and reputation.

Other than Arsenal, Paris Saint Germain also targets Aurier. Unfortunately, it is evident that Aurier has already set his eyes on playing in  the Premier League.

Andre Ayew

Andre Ayew is another prominent figure that will leave the confines of Ligue 1. Marseille’s winger is keen on joining the Brendan Rodgers’ revolution and is very vocal about his enthusiasm in joining the said outfit.

Ayew explained that Premier League has a steady following at Ghana and this is one of the reasons behind his intention to leave. He looks forward to the league’s “atmosphere, game and fans.”
The winger also confirmed that Rafael Benitez’s squad also encouraged him to join Napoli’s ranks. However, it is evident that Ayew is more likely to wear a Liverpool jersey next season.

Edinson Cavani

Said to be uncomfortable when playing the “wide role” and Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s “second fiddle,” El Matador is said to be the main target of Manchester United.

Reports have it that the Red Devils’ camp is willing to match the talismanic striker’s salary at Paris Saint Germain.

It remains unclear and perhaps too early to tell if this deal will push through. This is most especially true after Cavani reportedly tweeted his satisfaction in Parc des Princes.

Eden Hazard

There is a possibility that Premier League’s PFA Young Player of the Year awardee, Eden Hazard will return to the French League.

The young midfielder is said to be the main target of Paris Saint Germain this summer. Speculations have it that the relationship between Hazarad and his manager, Jose Mourinho, has turned sour after their disappointing exit in the Champions League.

The attempt to return to France remains unconfirmed though. Likewise, it is less likely that Chelsea will permit its highly rated player to leave their ranks.
