Falcao will not leave Monaco

Ligue 1 will return in a few weeks and French clubs are wrapping up things before the summer transfer window is closed. Here are some of the hottest gossips and confirmed details surrounding France’s top-tier football:

  • Monaco acquired Radamel Falcao last year for a staggering fee reported to be around €60 million, and the player did not disappoint even if he had to rest for several months after incurring an injury. For the upcoming season, there have been rumors about a possible Real Madrid transfer, but manager Leonardo Jardim despised the issue and has declared the player to be “indispensable for Monaco.” Putting him in the same pond as Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Karim Benzema, and Angel Di Maria does not also sound a good idea.
  • PSV attacking midfielder Zakaria Bakkali is rumored to be joining Lille on loan from Atletico Madrid should his move to the Spanish side pushes through; this is according to Belgian newspaper Le Soir. The 18-year old player has scored a total of four goals with PSV Eindhoven last season.
  • Wahbi Khazri has left Bastia in favor of Bordeaux after a five-year spell at the Stade Armand Cesari. The 23-year old midfielder has already finished his medical for Les Girondins and is set to play for the football betting top dogs in the next four years.
  • EPL club Newcastle United has loaned midfielder Sylvain Marveaux to Guingamp for the entire season with an option of full purchase. The player was previously liked to Montpellier but issues on wages eventually hindered any move.
  • Floyd Ayite, once put under the radar of numerous Premier League sides, has sealed a deal with Bastia instead to remain in Ligue 1. The former Reims player scored a total of 10 goals since 2011.
