Last season’s grand champions, Paris Saint Germain, made their first appearance in the Ligue 1 new season with a not-so-spectacular finish. Posting a draw with Montpellier 1-1 is not a strong figure to kick-off the side’s campaign. But now that they are already heading for their second encounter in the pitch—with Ajacio—supporters are expecting that the match will favor to their side this time around.

To be held on August 19 at PSG’s home court, Parc des Princes, the tournament is slated to gauge the capacity of the defending champions to make a consecutive dominance both in the field and in sports betting sites. Ajaccio seem to be the obvious underdog, especially that they only ranked 17th last season—just one spot short from relegation. However, the last time these two teams competed with each other (January 12) resulted in a draw 0-0, which means that despite having less spectacular form than their opponents, Ajaccio still have the capability to pull off surprises.

PSG’s five most recent matches were generally satisfactory, winning in three matches (against Rapid Wien 2-1, Hammarby 2-0, and Bordeaux 1-2), losing one tourney (to Real Madrid 0-1), and as mentioned above, posting a draw in the Ligue 1 season opening (with Montpellier 1-1). In comparison, Ajaccio seem to be needing a little more effort to push their limits. Their past five matches are not telling any reliable promise. They may have drawn with Tolouse 1-1, Nimes 1-1, and Clermont 1-1, but they also had to endure defeats from Montpellier 0-1 and Saint-Étienne 0-1.

PSG are apparently in it to win it. Their victorious energies from last season are still manifesting this new season. Ajaccio are a pack of great fighters, but this match will definitely run in the wheels of their opponents.
