PSG incurred their very first Ligue 1 defeat in 17 matches after they conceded one goal (and scored zero) to fifth placers Lyon. This was at the back of their bitter downfall in the Champions League against Chelsea, where they were eliminated in the quarterfinals after the English side inflicted them with a 2-0 loss. But despite the upset, Les Rouge-et-Bleu remain at the top of the domestic league. In fact, they are still 10 points clear of their closest rivals, Monaco.

Evian TG, meanwhile, are running four weeks of productive results. They earned a clean sheet from Monaco, won over Bastia, and forced draws with Toulouse and Lorient. Since curtain raiser, they have already lifted the silverware nine times and shared the spoils with their opponents 11 times. They are still within the table’s safer places, but they would need to continuously up their game as they are only eight points adrift of the 18th spot.

Online betting tip: PSG will seek vengeance by thumping Evian TG on a significant lead.

Toulouse vs. Lyon

Match Date: 20 April 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Stadium Municipal

Yago, Sana, and Suokouna will not be able to attend in Toulouse’s next battles while Lyon’s Vercoutre, Guorcuff, and Grenier are injured or suspended. The absences would make the sides seem even, but Lyon will actually take the stronger blow as their sidelined players are among their best scorers.

TFC have never won in four straight attempts while Les Gones earned two wins and two defeats from the same number of matches. Head to head, the clubs are almost even. Their past three meetings awarded the sides one victory and one draw apiece. However, in terms of overall metrics, the visitors are bulkier than their hosts. Lyon are in the top five and have 54 points and a goal difference of 11 under their belt. Toulouse rank ninth, with total earnings  of 44 points with a six-goal deficit.

Football betting tip: Lyon will bag all three points.
