If only Jonathan Zebina did not miss a stoppage time penalty, Toulouse would have been two spots closer to bagging a Europa League seeding. Their battle against Ajaccio ended in a draw and while it generally went well and relatively impressive, it still finished frustratingly for Alain Casanova’s men. Regardless, the side are running five straight weeks without a defeat and are comfortably seated in the top eight.

Lille’s most recent match almost concluded with them dropping two points against Ajaccio but thanks to Salomon Kalou’s stoppage-time winner, they were able to bag all the spoils and compensate for the deficit they suffered from the previous week’s loss to Rennes. In fairness to René Girard’s men, they held most of the chances to break the deadlock. Keeper Vincent Enyeama was very sprightly before Kalou’s late rally ultimately sealed the decision.

Football betting tip: Lille will pull off another triumph.

St. Etienne vs. Nice

Match Date: 06 April 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Stade Geoffrey-Guichard

St. Etienne remain a major threat to third-placed Lille after they nailed a stellar 2-1 win in the Rhone Valley derby at Lyon. Mevlut Erding put Christophe Galtiertheir’s men in the lead early in the fuixture with his third goal in two matches before Alexandre Lacazette leveled the scoring. However, Max Gradel made sure Les Verts will just be three points behind Lille and fired the winner 16 minutes into full time. The victory count as the side’s second straight and serves as redemption to the back-to-back upsets they incurred from Lorient and PSG.

If it was not for Timothee Kolodziejczak’s own goal, Nice could have held Paris Saint-Germaine in a draw. The battle was highly defensive and both squads showed intriguing stunts that briefly made spectators forget how distant the sides are in the league rankings are. The deadlock stood for more than 50 minutes until Cavani’s effort struck Kolodziejczak which subsequently led to the unfortunate instance. Les Aiglons are currently one spot outside the top half.

Sports betting tip: Saint Etienne will be in control of the scoring.
