With Guingamp losing to Lille and Montpellier finishing a goalless draw with Valenciennes, the sides are now level on points (35) and rank 16th and 15th in the table, respectively. Only goal difference separates the two who are also heavily pressured of remaining adrift of the relegation zone as they are only a few upsets away from plunging into this most dreaded part of the league table.

The side might be identical in terms of total points earned but when it comes to form, Montpellier have a more agreeable streak than Guingamp. La Paillade lost only eight times this season with the majority of their fixtures resulting in draws—at 17, the highest among all clubs. Guingamp recorded more wins than their opponents but they also incurred more defeats.

Sports betting tip: Guingamp will have all their goals equalized by Montpellier.

Lorient vs. Evian Thonon Gaillard

Match Date: 05 April 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Stade du Moustoir

To turn a two-match losing streak around would prove a very difficult task, but to halt it even just with a draw would already be rewarding. This is what exactly Lorient have just accomplished when they fought against Reims. Vincent Aboukar scored a first-half penalty to put an end to his side’s goalless mishaps in their previous two fixtures. The goal set Lorient in the lead in the first-half stoppage time before Odair Fortes hit back just after the break for Reims. The result sums up Les Merlus total earnings to 37 points, which is good enough to keep them five spots away from the drop zone.

While they may not be able to completely launch a gigantic ascent, Evian TG have at least some guts to widen their gap against the table’s bottom three. Surprisingly winning against Monaco, the side bagged vital addition to their chances at survival. In fact, they are now five points clear of 18th placers Valenciennes which can assure them of least another week outside the drop zone.

Online betting tip: Both clubs will be able to create plenty of chances but the scoring will eventually render them equal.
