Bastia’s struggles to obtain concrete security continued with a frustrating defeat from Nice 2-0. This was the latest addition to the four winless matches they had against Monaco 0-2, Saint-Etienne 0-2, Lorient 1-1, and PSG 0-3—all in the French top-tier football. While they are currently in the mid-table, I Turchini should still pull off some stunning maneuvers especially that their inconsistency remains a strong threat to their form.

Although they did not seize all three points, Reims still ended up impressive as they forced a surprise draw against title chasers Marseille 1-1. What seemed to be a chances-clad meeting ended up with the two sides only bagging one goal apiece. Reims took the lead early in the second half with a strike from Antoine Devaux. Just 10 minutes into full-time, Marseille nailed an equalizer through a ferocious volley from Pierre Gignac.

Online betting tip: Expect this face-off to conclude in a stalemate.

Bordeaux vs. Nice

Match Date: 22 March 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Stade Jacques Chaban-Delmas

Against Montpellier, Les Girondins obtained a first-half lead in the 24th minute which they played in hopes hopes of bagging their first win in three attempts. However, Vitorino Hilton’s third goal of the season denied Bordeaux the chance of moving up to seventh in the table and claimed a vital point for La Paillade in their battle for Ligue 1 safety. This resulted in Francis Gillot’s men being locked in the ninth spot with 41 points under their belt.

Nice achieved impressive results with back-to-back wins from their two most recent battles: against Marseille 0-1 and Bastia 2-0. While the points were substantial, and indeed vital, Les Aiglons remain far from securing a Europa League seeding. They are currently at number 10, nine points clear of the relegation zone but still 11 points away from the top four.

Football betting tip: Bordeaux and Nice will display a good amount of equalizers, eventually sharing the points by the end of the fixture.
