Ligue 1 Match Preview: Toulouse vs. Sochaux

Updated: November 27, 2013

Match Date: 30 November 2013 (local)

Match Venue: Stadium Municipal

Toulouse suffered an appalling defeat when they met with Rennes a few weeks ago, conceding five goals and scoring zero innings. The upset in that match was carried over in their next battles—probably due to lack of inspiration—where none of those ended in a victory. Their tourney with Ajaccio, however, finished in a stalemate, giving them something to add in their hard-earned overall score. Currently, the side are placed in the league table’s 14th spot.

The Alain Casanova-lead troupe almost delivered a draw in their most recent fight, if not for the late goal by Pape Souare that put Lille on triumph. Pape Souare headed in Florent Balmont’s cross at the far post during the match’s dying minutes to score with Lille’s only attempt on target. Toulouse were forced to play with 10 men for most of the second half after striker Oscar Trejo was sent off following a second booking.

Still heeding the difficulty of the season, Sochaux have little opportunity to strengthen their form. The relegation-prone team remain among the least impressive in Ligue 1, having been defeated more frequently than they could afford. Conceding 25 goals and obtaining a negative goal difference, Les Lionceaux have stayed in the abyss of the French top-flight competition.

In their five most recent fixtures, Hervé Renard’s lads showed slight improvements in their attack. Three out of those matches finished in deadlocks, of which, only one went goal-less. But still, the troupe are in great shortage of a successful result.

Online betting tip: For apparent reasons, Toulouse are the favorites to win in this match over Sochaux. The visitors need more skills training to help them acclimatize in the competition. Betting for the hosts between 1.94 and 1.98 can prove gainful.
