Sochaux

Sochaux are practically in crisis this season. Having won only once since opening day and conceding 25 goals in 18 matches, Les Lionceaux will have a tremendous difficulty of turning the tides. They were goal-less in their last three matches, under pressure of a ballooning number of sidelined players, and have moderately been productive despite a managerial switch just two months ago.

Even up to now, Sochaux are still struggling to convert chances. Creating opportunities via long shots have always been their strongest quality, but the difficulty to convert them into solid goals is posing a major dilemma. There is not much of a problem in their performance in the air, but there is certainly a burgeoning issue in terms of ball possession.

Stade Rennes

Les Rouges et Noirs only picked up four points from their last five matches, courtesy of one win and one draw. This makes their total score to 21 points, allowing them to place in the 14th spot of the league table. Away from home, Rennes could barely make a solid statement pertinent to their consistency. They were defeated five times in the nine away matches they had this season, but they also obtained a brilliant 0-5 away victory (plus two defensive draws) when they met up with Toulouse.

They may have shortcomings in aerial duels, but they can be really aggressive when they attempt to create long shot opportunities. Rennes have relatively developed attacking skills as well, as evidenced by the nearly two dozens of goals they scored in the competition thus far. However, there is a major issue in their defense, seen more clearly by the negative-digit goal difference they currently suffer.

Football betting tip: There is no significant factor that could differentiate Sochaux and Rennes in a wide margin. Both clubs can hardly breathe life into the competition. But with the visitors slightly possessing the upper hand over their hosts, Rennes will earn all the three points from this fixture.
