Ligue 1 Match Preview: Nantes vs. AS Monaco

Updated: November 18, 2013

Match Date: 24 November 2013

Match Venue: La Beaujoire-Louis-Fonteneau

Sitting comfortably at number four and with just one player (Djilobodji) sidelined, Nantes are absolutely having a remarkable time in the French top-tier league. The side had a notable ascent toward their current status, which was previously periled by a meek standing at number 13 (week four). Following an almost-consecutive streak of victories, Les Canaris have successfully barged into the league’s highest quarter.

Michel Der Zakarian’s troupe continue to display excellence in finishing scoring chances, as well as delivering counter attacks. They may be frail at aerial duels or at keeping possession of the ball, but they are very impressive at defending set pieces and making excellent use of through balls.

AS Monaco

Due to PSG and Lille earning so much success in their most recent joists, Monaco have found a challenging pursuit to regain the top position (which they held from weeks four through nine). Currently placed at number three, Les Rouge et Blanc are not necessarily declining; they were just effectively overtaken by the two other clubs.

After 11 weeks of unbeaten campaigns, Monaco have finally tasted their first defeat at the hands of Lille 2-0. Their next bout should have exuded a victory in order for them to make up for the dismay. However, the team only scored a draw (with Evian TG 1-1) and earned just one point from the combat. Monaco are expecting their subsequent matches to be equally tough, but they are confident that they will win all of them over.

Football betting tip: This battle will result in an excitingly stunt-heavy display. Both sides could produce excellent innings, although strong defenses can also mean that the scoring would be quite low. For this meeting, a draw is likely to happen.
