Nantes and Monaco were 11 spots apart last season, with the latter in the upper end. This new season, they are again several places away from each other—except that Nantes are now looking to be the better side between the two.

FC Nantes

Compared to last season, Nantes are performing so much better in the current top-tier tournament as far as the same match period is concerned. They currently rank in the table’s sixth spot, which is a 13-place improvement from their second-week position last term. From their four most recent matches in all competitions, Les Canaris have been unbeaten. They held both Lucon and Atalanta in goalless draws during their pre-season friendlies and won against Lens 1-0 in their debut to Ligue 1. A few days ago, they finished their battle against Metz in a 1-1 stalemate. These collectively gave them four points and a goal difference of +1 in just two league appearances.

AS Monaco

Monaco produced a very successful spell last season, when they were just newly promoted to the top-flight tournament and made headlines with their record-breaking signing accomplishments. This term, however, their form looks to be of great contrast to what it was from a few months ago. The side were been beaten in their first two matches in Ligue 1’s new season and have thus, inevitably plunged deep beneath the safer spots of the table. Radamel Falcao and Dimitar Berbatov were the only players to net goals (one each) for Les Rouges et Blancs but even their efforts proved useless in the midst of a poor defense and weak aerial skills. The talent is there; what they need is creativity and discipline.

Online betting tip: Although Nantes have the better form, Monaco possess the stronger determination to lord this tourney over.
