Match Date: 30 November 2013 (local)

Match Venue: Stade Louis II

After succumbing to Lille 2-0 a few weeks ago, Monaco were denied of an unbeaten run this season. Claudio Ranieri’s troop allowed their rivals to ease a point ahead of them and barge into the second place behind table leaders, Paris Saint-Germain. Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama’s outstanding display, which included a double save from Falcao and Emmanuel Riviere in added time at the end of the fixture, was considered to be the most apparent reason for Les Rouge et Blanc’s loss.

In their two most recent matches, however, Monaco went back to the greener pastures. They held Evian TG on a 1-1 draw and won over Nantes in a clean sheet. The current third placers (and former frontrunners) are keen that they will do so much better in their next battles, with particular focus on their superb attack of set pieces.

Ranking just outside the top 10, Stade Rennes have only won four times this season, with the same number shared by their defeats. This means that the majority of their fixtures went to a deadlock—a strong indicator that they are neither massive attackers nor disappointing defenders.

Les Rouges et Noirs’ last five Ligue 1 matches only rendered them with one victory, but it was a very strong result that saw Toulouse concede five goals and score zero. The side forced a draw with three other clubs (Valenciennes, Marseille, and most recently, Bordeaux) and went under the spell of Bastia.

Football betting tip: Consistency-wise, Monaco are so much in-form than Rennes. They also have more developed skills to flaunt and a stronger fan base that could draw in massive inspiration. Therefore, the hosts will finish this match to their favor. Wagering for them between 1.86 and 2.06 could be a productive gamble.
