For the last four matches that Bastia have engaged in against Metz, they never failed to win all three points. But their average performance from last season as well as Metz’ stunning form by the end of Ligue 2 could make a significant difference this time around.

FC Metz

Les Grenats almost went back to the relegation zone last week when they failed to topple Nice and surrendered all the points instead. It was their second defeat of the season, the first one being their third fixture. They opened their campaign with back to back draws with Lille and Nantes and highlighted it with a 2-1 trouncing (a notable upset) at Lyon. They are currently positioned at number 17, just a step away from the most dreaded region of the league table. Inconsistency is an apparent dilemma of the newly promoted squad, but their resilience could still provide them enough hope to spend the majority of their campaign in the safer zones.

SC Bastia

Thus far, Bastia have only won once since their debut in the new season. However, they have also been defeated only once as the majority of their battles went into stalemates. They were at the top half of the table when they entered Ligue 1 last month but have since been marooned in the bottom 10 for their next four weeks at the French top-flight football. Their most recent tourney only produced one, which they obtained after drawing 1-1 with newly promoted side Lens.

Football betting tip: Metz and Bastia will share the spoils.
