Evian Thonon Gaillard

Evian TG shipped a seventh consecutive winless result after they clashed with Lyon on weekend 3-0. The side’s most recent displays (in all competitions) have placed them in a very difficult situation. They are now just 21 points clear of the relegation zone and are ranked at number 17. If they make their next battle into the losing side again, they will appear in the bottom for a second time this season.

Despite their barely acceptable form, it was Evian who started the match aggressively when Aldo Angoula subdued the offside trap but fired faintly at Anthony Lopes. Lyon’s Bafetimbi Gomis opened the scoring and Alexandre Lacazette successfully wrapped up all three points with goals from both sides of the break.

AC Ajaccio

It has been 15 weeks since their first (and only) victory at Stade François Coty and Ajaccio are still without a follow up win. They may have scored some points from a few draws but their total score is too small to fully free them from the foot of the table.

In their latest battle, Ajaccio shared the points with equally struggling Sochaux side 1-1. Benjamin Andre put L’ours in the lead in the eighth minute when he beat goalkeeper Simon Pouplin at the far post, and the Corsican team have almost claimed their second win of the season until Sochaux captain Vincent Nogueira leveled the scoring in stoppage time.

Sports betting tip: With a slightly more reliable form than Ajaccio, Evian TG will finish this fixture in a very narrow win. Both sides will net at least one goal; hence, Evian’s win will not be a clean sheet.
