Evian, after shipping their 100th match in Ligue 1, failed to break their eight-match winless run as they saw themselves force a draw with Montpellier 1-1 at the Stade de la Mosson on weekend. Kevin Berigaud’s opener was equalized by the hosts’ Remy Cabella just before the break, with the scores remaining deadlocked even after Siaka Tiene was issued a red card in the 68th minute.

Les Croix de Savoie are only a hairline above the relegation zone, with just two points keeping them safe from the disaster. Their defense is similarly on the rocks, as evidenced by their negative goal difference. Pascal Dupraz must address this issue immediately especially that the tournament is now just a few matches away from its finale.

After becoming dry of wins in five consecutive matches, Lille have finally gained their traction back as they trounced Sochaux at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy on weekend. Goals from Divock Origi and Ryan Mendes struck exactly 90 minutes apart inflicted a 2-0 defeat on the visitors and lifted Les Dogues three points above Saint Etienne, helping them go back to the third spot of the rankings.

Attaining the championship may not be highly feasible for Lille this season, although they have consistently shown strong performances throughout the competition. Of the current top six clubs, Lille and St. Etienne are the only sides to not lead the rankings for at least one week. Lyon, Marseille, Monaco, and the current leaders PSG have all obtained the highest glory in the league. Regardless, it is very certain that Lille will finish the season strongly.

Online betting tip: With their strength seized back, Lille will absolutely fire another stunner in their next battle. Evian might find ways to create chances, but the visitors will eventually earn all the three points.
