Updated: February 20, 2014

Match Date: 22 February 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Stade Jacques Chaban-Delmas

Bordeaux have generally dwindled in their past few matches from all competitions, winning only once in their seven most recent fixtures. The victory came from three weeks ago when they thrashed Saint Etienne in a two-goal clean sheet. This success, however, were overshadowed by the defeats they had from FB Île Rousse in the Coupe de France and PSG and Reims in Ligue 1—which all rendered them goalless.

While still 13 points or 10 places adrift of the relegation zone, the side’s progressively deteriorating form will make them at a riskier league position in the coming weeks. This, however, can be prevented if they make room for improvements in the defense and reduce frequency in dangerous areas.

Evian TG

Evian TG stretched their winless streak to a tenth match after they failed (again) to earn all the spoils from Lille in their Ligue 1 battle at Parc des Sports on weekend. After opening the scoring in the 15th minute through Berigaud, top brass Pascal Dupraz got frustrated when Origi was able to deliver an equalizer. Mongongu managed to make it 2-1 in the 64th minute but as with the first half, this was cancelled out by Lille as well.

Evian barely loom above the relegation zone, saved only by three points to keep themselves a spot away from Valenciennes. Winning their next fixture is extremely crucial, and they can only do it if they are able to strengthen their conversion skills and improve on defending the lead.

Online betting tip: Bordeaux and Evian’s past two meetings rendered them level. With their current forms manifesting only small differences, it is likely they will end up again in a deadlock.
