Neither Bordeaux nor Evian were successful in their fifth battles fir the Ligue 1 title, although the former can still cling on their previous results to veer away from danger, while the latter are still buried in the bottom zone.

FC Girondins de Bordeaux

Bordeaux slipped from the table’s summit to the third spot after they recorded their very first defeat of the season at the hands of Guingamp. The upset came with a premonition in the 26th minute when Mustapha Diallo scored the opener. Not long enough, Christophe Mandanne doubled Guingamp’s lead with a penalty goal in the 34th minute. Bordeaux, via Cheick Tidiane Diabate, made a late stunner but it only served as consolation when they were no longer able to fire an equalizer.

Evian Thonon Gaillard FC

Evian are still without a win since the new season opened and the mere one point they obtained from a few weeks ago with PSG could not suffice for their need of a reliable score to keep them out of the relegation zone. The side spent their fifth Ligue 1 fixture with three goals conceded and just one scored. Marseille dominated the entirety of the 90-minute spectacle with goals from Gignac, Imbula, and Thauvin. Clarck N’Sikulu netted on extra time but it did little to change the results except that it ensured that Evian will not be beaten on a clean sheet.

Football betting tip: Bordeaux will fight back and earn all the marbles from Evian.
