Ligue 1 Match Preview: Bastia vs. Evian TG

Updated: November 26, 2013

Match Date: 01 December 2013 (local)

Match Venue: Stade Armand-Cesari-Furiani

Collecting four points from their last two Ligue 1 fixtures, Bastia have secured a 19-point sheet to push them up in the table rankings. They are now back in the top 10, after spending some of the match weeks outside this bracket. Their current record stands at W5-D4-L5, with a total of 16 goals scored.

I Turchini’s latest rallies are rebuilding new hope for the inconsistent squad, thanks mainly to Ryad Boudebouz who was instrumental to the side’s success in those tourneys. In addition, Frédéric Hantz’s men are maintaining a good record on direct free kicks, while their stance on defending set pieces is also becoming stronger. There are still a lot of improvements to be done, but delivering results is never a remote possibility.

Evian TG

After three weeks of non-losing fixtures (two wins, one draw), Evian TG have found a deep buckle in their streak when they welcomed Lorient to their grounds last weekend. The 0-4 home defeat was an absolute dismay for the squad, pulling them down in the rankings by a few notches. Currently, they sit on the 15th spot, just three places away from the relegation zone. They have also more goals conceded (25) than scored (15).

Pascal Dupraz seem to be failing at creating effective positions that would strengthen his troop’s defense, or at least support his players’ attacking mechanisms. The side are also periled by a growing list of sidelined warriors, which now count Benezet, Blanc, Bertoglio, Berigaud, and Barbosa.

Online betting tip: In almost every criterion, Bastia have the greater odds to win this match than Evian. Particularly in the defensive department, the former are one step ahead of the latter. Betting for them between 1.89 and 2.03 should yield reasonable profits.
