Although they are not necessarily frustrating, Saint-Etienne are performing less spectacularly than last season. From their past five league matches alone, they already incurred two defeats—one of which was a 5-0 thumping by PSG—won only twice, and forced a draw once. Their total earnings of 14 points as per Ligue 1’s eight week are just enough to keep them within the top six.

Toulouse, in comparison, have also picked up all possible results from their five most recent matches. They were winners against Evian and Rennes, losers to Reims, and equal with Caen and PSG. The last one was particularly impressive considering what kind of monster talents the Parisians have in their slate. Toulouse rank at number 11 in the league table.

Football betting tip: Toulouse will succumb to Saint Etienne.

Lyon vs. Lille

Match Date: 05 October 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Stade Gerland

Lyon have four players sidelined (Dabo, Benzia, Grenier, and Fofana) while Lille have three (Mavuba, Roux, and Martin). In terms of form as per their past five matches, the squads share almost the same results. They were both beaten once, won twice, and were forced in a draw twice as well. However, they quite differ in their attacking skills as the hosts have netted nine goals in all those matches while Lille only scored four in that same streak.

Head to head, the teams scored virtually the same points from the two-legged encounters they had last season. On both matches, they rendered each other goalless—indicating strong defenses or maybe, poor attacks. In the current rankings, however, Lille are positioned seven places higher than Lyon.

Sports betting tip: Lyon will lose all the spoils to Lille.
