Nice and Montpellier’s two-legged meetings last season have produced five goals for the latter and only three for the former. In the current season, however, the squads have displayed quite similar performances. In fact, they are level on points as per the eighth week of league fixtures, with Montpellier only ahead of their opponents by goal difference. From their last Ligue 1 matches, the sides have been very successful. Les Aiglons earned a clean sheet against Monaco through a Carlos Eduardo early goal while La Paillade bagged all the marbles from Guingamp through the second-half goals by Camara and Montano.

Sports betting tip: Nice and Montpellier will battle out a medium-scoring draw.

Rennes vs. Lens

Match Date: 05 October 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Route de Lorient

Ranked side-by-side in the current league standings, Rennes and Lens are both struggling to make a significant impact on the French top-flight football. The squads are occupants of the bottom half, suggestive of their poor form and awkward discipline. With negative goal differences, they also suffer from an acute problem in the defense.

Rennes’ last three matches were fruitless, although their most recent one allowed them to score a goal. Against Bordeaux, the side netted an equalizer via Habibou to cancel out Khazri’s opener. However, Toure’s late rally eventually decided the outcome. Lens, meanwhile, have also suffered deficits from their last few fixtures. They were rendered goalless by Caen in their battle just a few days ago, although they were also able to put their opponents’ scoring record to zero.

Online betting tip: Rennes and Lens will come out even from this meeting.
