While PSG rank in the top three, Lens occupy a seat in the bottom three. The sides apparently have contrasting forms and are separated by seven points. The home team have been winless in the past five weeks of the French top-tier league, losing thrice and drawing twice —of which, they were goalless in three occasions. The visitors, by contrast, have never been beaten since the season opened, although the majority of their battles concluded in draws. A notable success, however, was their Ibrahimovic-less win against Barcelona in the Champions League.

It is very obvious that Lens and PSG will engage in a very predictable brawl. The Parisians show dangerous talents in creating chances and will not hesitate to convert those. The Lens players may be good at possession but they will have to address a major problem in their vulnerability toward errors as well as in their defense.

Football betting tip: PSG will earn all three points against Lens.

Lorient vs. Saint-Étienne

Match Date: 18 October 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Stade du Moustoir

Preceding a four-week drought of points, Lorient’s win against Bastia a few days ago have finally given them the hope to aim higher in the competition. The side were almost in the relegation zone last week and were looking to plummet further have they not been able to subdue Bastia. Thanks to the clean sheet delivered by Peybernes (OG), Sunu, and keeper Lecomte, Lorient jumped three places higher in the table.

Saint-Etienne have been winless in their past four matches, which include a draw in the Europa League against Dnipro. Their most recent battle in Ligue 1 inflicted them with a loss to Toulouse, having been unable to score and conceded a goal. If not for the brilliant early matches they had in the season, they would not be part of the current top 10.

Sports betting tip: Lorient and St. Etienne will share the spoils.
