Villarreal and Apollon have never met in any competition of friendly exhibition. While it is quite hard to determine who plays better than the other, their respective forms and UEL histories can otherwise produce a reliable survey.

Villarreal

At number seven, Villarreal will need to play it harder in La Liga to secure another place in the Europa League next season. But with their current form not showing significant sign of optimism, the entire process will prove very difficult. The squad have only managed to win once in their past five matches, which they pulled off against Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish top-tier league. In their Europa League group stage debut, they only scored one goal and obtained one point as well from drawing with Borussia M’gladbach.

Apollon Limassol

Apollon’s form is outstanding. They have been unbeaten in six consecutive battle, which include four in the Cypriot top-division league and two in the Europa League. Their most recent UEFA battle, which was on the opening games of the Group round, resulted in a highly entertaining 3-2 victory against Switzerland’s Zurich. The side figured early in the tourney with a double opener by Papoulis and Gullon. These, however, were later equalized their Swiss rivals before Koch’s own goal decided the result. This helped Apollon reach the top spot of the group table.

Europa League betting tip: Although Villarreal display a much less impressive form, they could still hold Apollon in a draw.
