In terms of form and domestic performances, Lokeren and Metalist are opposing forces. While the hosts rank comfortably in the Belgian Pro League, the visitors are struggling in the Ukrainian Premier League. Both sides, however, incurred a disastrous debut in the Europa League group round.

Lokeren Oost-Vlaanderen

Lokeren’s past five matches in all competitions have been pretty impressive, except for a debacle they incurred from Legia Warszawa in the Europa League. The current fourth placers of the Belgian Pro League entered the UEFA tournament with a not-so-substantial impact on their group. In fact, they were not able to place an equalizer to their rivals’ opening, causing them to suffer a -1 goal difference and book their debut Group stage appearance at the bottom of the table.

Metalist Kharkiv

Although they were able to deliver one goal, Metalist fell short of enough attacking power to subdue Trabzonspor in the opening matches of the Europa League group stage. This disabled them to rank in the group table’s top half but not severe enough to put them at its bottom. In the domestic league, the squad are struggling to make it past the upper half of the Premier League table. Thus far, they have only won twice in seven appearances, making them highly vulnerable to dangerous outcomes.

Europa League betting tip: Lokeren will narrowly pull off the lead over Metalist.
