AaB and Rio Ave have never met in a previous Europa League fixture, or in any other battle for that matter. They are their respective country’s frontrunners and this meeting should therefore give enough thrill to entertain spectators.

Aalborg BK

AaB’s recent form has been less than impressive. Their past five matches in all competitions have only given them one win, while the remainder is composed of two draws (with Silkeborg and Randers, both in Superliga) and two defeats (to Steaua Bucuresti in Europa and to Vestsjælland in the top-flight competition). Their UEFA debut in the group stage ended painfully, with them having to concede six goals amid a very powerful attack and defense by their Romanian opponents. As a result, they currently occupy the bottom spot of the group table.

Rio Ave

Winless for their past five matches, Rio Ave are apparently having a tough time turning their form around. The defense-attack combo is not performing well and their machinery to outwit their opponents is not delivering either. Of this streak, two went into deadlock while the rest were embarrassing defeats, including the one versus Dynamo Kyiv in the Europa League. The side currently rank in the bottom half of the group table, following a 0-3 home thrashing by their Ukrainian rivals. At the domestic league, they are six points away from the summit.

Europa League betting tip: Aab will narrowly win against Rio Ave.
