Match Date: 09 September 2014 (Cancelled)

Venue: TBA

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to cancel the match between Israel and Belgium on 09 September 2014 due to security concerns.
According to reports, the atrocities between Israel and Hamas forced UEFA to call off all games scheduled in Israel. The postponed battle will now take place on 31 March 2015 as long as security issues are already addressed.

Nevertheless, here is a peek of what the audience could expect from the said match.

The contenders

Israel

The Blue and Whites are still seeking for its first qualification in the tournament.

The squad made an impressive start during their 2000 campaign where they clinched a 5-0 win against Austria and 8-0 over San Marino. Unfortunately, Denmark destroyed them when the latter installed an 8-0 victory on aggregate.

In 2012, Israel was hopeful that they could clinch the play-off spot. But it only resulted to a near miss, which, once again, prevented their qualification.

Belgium

The Red Devils is one of the strongest forces that one has to reckon with in this competition.

Marc Willmots and his men were spectacular in their World Cup campaign where they were able to reach the quarter-final. The team was dubbed as the tournament’s dark horse and there is no doubt that they will feature again in the European Championship.

Possible head turner

Belgium is equipped with a pool of talented players that could readily impress. The playmaker Eden Hazard will definitely take control of the upcoming match alongside with Maroane Fellaini and Thomas Vermaelen. Vincent Kompany’s extensive experience in international competition is also a crucial element in the squad. There is also Romelu Lukaku, who could explode with successive goals.

The best bet

Belgium takes the upper hand in this encounter. There are no online betting odds as of the moment due to the match’s cancellation, but there is no doubt that many will favor the Red Devils.
