The contenders

Bosnia And Herzegovina

The European Championship has remained as an elusive feat for the Dragons. It is one of the major tournaments that the squad failed to dominate.

But the winds of change blows in a different direction. Although the squad struggled in its previous participation, they now have a different source of motivation, which could propel them to greater heights of success and this is no other than qualifying for the World Cup.

For the first time in the country’s footballing history, the national team was able to play in a bigger arena and compete against the best squad in the world.

The high level of intensity and determination that Bosnia and Herzegovina showed during the World Cup qualifiers will be shown once again as the team prepares to take the spotlight in this competition.

Like Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus is also hungry for a European Championship qualification. The club found it hard to go beyond the qualifying stage and is always subjected to an early exit.

One of its biggest achievements can be seen in its 2000 campaign when it caused an upset against Spain and Israel. Unfortunately, its success was short-lived.

The same thing occurred during the 2012 qualifiers. Although they forced Portugal to an even steven finish, the squad was simply not strong enough to counter the onslaught of over teams and therefore, fell out of the competition.

Possible head turner

Edin Dzeko has been performing Bosnia’s scoring responsibilities and will most likely to feature in the upco9ming match. Alongside with him is Vedad Ibisevic. Together, the two makes a powerful duo that could stun the powerhouse in the competition.
