Montenegro and Moldova have met in two previous fixtures, both in the World Cup qualifications for the Brazil 2014 event. The sides earned one victory apiece, although Moldova would win by aggregate scores and goal difference.

Montenegro

A relatively young nation, Montenegro have yet to make a significant impact in the international scene as far as football is concerned. The former Yugoslavian republic have only appeared in two qualifying rounds for major tournaments so far. On both occasions, they failed to qualify. They reached the qualification play-offs of UEFA EURO 2012 on their competition debut, securing a pair of draws with England in the process. It was not enough, though, to give them seeding in the competition proper. In the FIFA World Cup, meanwhile, they also failed to qualify on the editions they were eligible to participate in—at the 2010 South Africa tournament and 2014 Brazil edition.

Moldova

Moldova have yet to qualify for the finals of the European Championships, although they have already participated in the tournament when they were still part of the Soviet Union. Their most memorable streak of form came at the end of their Euro 2008 campaign when they claimed ten points from their last four matches, including wins against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary. In the friendlies they joined between November 2013 and June 2014, the Moldovans have only won twice, force a draw also twice, and succumbed to their opponents four times.

Sports betting tip: Montenegro and Moldova will share the spoils.
