Updated: October 13, 2014

Match Date: 14 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: National Stadium

Poland looks forward to extending its lead at home as they go against a determined Scotland. The squad catapulted its rank after beating the recently crowned World Cup champion and heavy football betting top pick, Germany, with 2 goals to nil. Poland has also remained unbeaten since the qualifiers began.

The contenders

Poland rose to the top when it contained Germany in their recent encounter. Die Mannschaft had plenty of scoring opportunities during the said clash. But Poland was more clinical. Goals coming from Arkadiusz Milik and a last minute stunner from Sebastian Mila denied Germany the chance to catch up.

In an interview, Mila shared that he never thought that his dream of winning against Germany and even scoring for that matter, would come true.

Prior to beating Germany, Poland already made a strong statement when it withheld and thrashed Gibraltar with a 7-0 win.

After suffering defeat in Germany’s hands, Scotland was able to seek redemption when it snatched a narrow victory against Georgia.

An own goal from Akaki Khubutia gave the Scots the lead on the 27th minute. Georgia tried to make a comeback or at the very least, score an equalizer, but their chances have been limited.

Possible head turners

Sebastian Mila has been a reliable scorer for Poland. After scoring an important goal against Germany, expect Mila to participate in the country’s scoring list again.

Other than Mila, the Bayern Munich poacher, Robert Lewandowski is also one of the prominent figures that Scotland must watch out for.
