A stunning win against Portugal inspires Albania to continue its strong start in the European qualifier. Eager to prove that their recent victory was not a product of sheer luck, expect the Eagles to show off an impressive performance in front of its own crowd.

The contenders

Nobody really expected that Albania would outlast the online betting favorite, Portugal, during its first qualifying match. They were helpless minnows which are about to experience a heavy thrashing.

Albania, however, proved all of its detractors wrong when it stumped Portugal. While others say that the Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence paved way for the squad’s downfall, one should not forget that Ronaldo is not the sole player of the team and that Albania, indeed, did well to capitalize on his absence.

Denmark also clinched a dramatic victory during the first leg of the European qualifiers. The squad has managed to secure a grand comeback 15 minutes after Henrikh Mkhitaryan snatched the lead for Armenia on the 50th minute.

Impressive goals coming from Pierre Hojbjerg and Thomas Kahlenberg stole the spotlight from the Armenian squad and eventually, gave them the needed victory.

Possible head turners

Albania will be sporting an experienced squad led by its team captain, Lorik Cana. Denmark should also keep an eye on Hamdi Salihi, whose scoring prowess can make Albania’s opponents bleed.
