English Premier League News: Arsenal Keen on Huntelaar; Utd, Utd Lewandowski Move Played Down

Updated: December 5, 2012

Transfer reports in the English Premier League are rife in light of the upcoming window this January. The likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City are currently looking for bold reinforcements that could possibly turn things around for the rest of the league season.

Arsenal – Huntelaar, Zaha, Reina and a Possible Third for Henry

For the Gooners, the return of their modern-day legend Thierry Henry would prove to be a highly favourable one. An eight-year run at Arsenal, in which he appeared for 377 times and scoring 228 for the club, sealed his reputation as one of the Gunners’ seminal figures in the pitch.

Manager Arsene Wenger’s successful two-month loan deal with Henry at the start of this year proves that a third one is not farfetched. With Arsenal and their fans alike heavily indebted to the striker, would Wenger move for acquiring him and his magic once more?

Meanwhile, the likes of Schalke 04’s Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha and Liverpool’s Pepe Reina are within the target range of Wenger in the upcoming transfer period this winter.

Manchester United – In a Tight Tussle for Lewandowski

Reports that Manchester United are on the move to prepare a £12 million deal for Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski. Yet, manager Jürgen Klopp played down such an offer, saying that his side is keen on retaining their goal-scoring figure.

Earlier, Dortmund saw the transfer of midfield talent Shinji Kagawa to United. Despite that, the German champions went on to dominate this season’s Champions League Group D on top of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Ajax.
