Match Date: 22 October 2013 (local)

Match Venue: Celtic Park, Glasgow

Earning zero points from two matches in the group round, and having been defeated twice in a row, Celtic barely found a suitable set of maneuvers to help them acclimatize in the continental tournament’s higher stage. The disappointing results inevitably pulled the side down in the group table’s bottom, lowering their chance at obtaining substantial sports betting support. The side debuted in the qualifying rounds rather impressively, beating the likes of Cliftonville and Elfsburg on aggregate scores. During the play-offs, Celtic were one goal greater (aggregate) than Shakhter Karagandy. The relatively successful streak rapidly deteriorated when the squad were seeded alongside Barcelona, Milan, and Ajax—three clubs that have already established themselves as European superpowers.

After an unsuccessful visit to Barcelona 4-0 and a fairly impressive welcome of Milan 1-1, Ajax have pinned themselves in the Champions League Group H’s third spot. The side are five points short of their Spanish adversary and need more than three points to overtake their Italian rivals. While they may single-handedly rule over the Dutch Eredivisie, they cannot easily fend off the pressures of the Champions League. Europe’s highest echelon of football competitions has not yet been able to produce winners from the Netherlands in almost 17 years. Ajax last won the tournament in the 1994-95 season.

Champions League betting tip: This will be a close battle between the Scottish and Dutch teams. There is hardly a factor that would significantly differentiate the capacities of Celtic and Ajax, and ending their match in draw is very likely.
