Manchester United vs Bayer Leverkusen

Match Date: 27 November 2013 (local)

Match Venue: BayArena

The convergence between the German side and the English squad on September 17 ignited one of Champions League’s most intriguing moments. Wayne Rooney of Manchester United is on his way to make records, after contributing two of the four goals (plus one assist) his team scored during their joist (first leg) with Bayer Leverkusen. The fixture concluded with the English players bringing home the bacon, while the Germans left the pitch with two goals.

The success produced double victory for coach David Moyes. Aside from cementing his first win in the European competition, it also showed his capability to bring out the best in Rooney. The player is now at arm’s length of achieving or surpassing the records held by Jack Rowley, Denis Law, and Charlton. He is brushing shoulders with legends.

A much more challenging pursuit lies ahead of Manchester United.  The displays made by fellow superpowers Real Madrid, Paris St-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City in the continental tourney were outright impressive. Moyes, however, showed that he can confidently capitalize on Rooney, setting the team up in 4-2-3-1 style that allowed the forward to rove and wrestle.

Champions League betting tip: There is a growing possibility that Manchester United will advance to the next round of the European competition. Bayer Leverkusen, however, are already preparing massive stunts reserved for their rematch with the English powerhouse. The German opposition will move mountains to secure a winning result. But with Manchester United showing high regard to their form, there is little chance for the adversary to retaliate. A draw is possible in this fixture, but Manchester United will likely win with a narrow lead. Wagering between 1.82 and 2.10 for the English troupe could yield good earnings.
