Neither Liverpool nor Ludogorets were able to participate in the higher stages of the Champions League last season. The former failed to qualify via EPL berths while the latter were beaten by Basel in the play-offs.

Liverpool FC

Last season has almost given Liverpool their very first league title in more than two decades but eventually lost the honor to Manchester City only by two points. They won 26 times in 38 fixtures and scored a total of 101 goals all throughout the competition. At the League Cup, they reached the third round and at the FA Cup, they only played up to the fifth round. Their five most recent match results are also quite confusing as they performed both impressively and poorly. They were winners against Dortmund (CLF), Southampton (EPL), and Tottenham (EPL) but were also rendered losers at the hands of Manchester United (ICC) and Manchester City (EPL).

PFC Ludogorets Razgrad

Ludogorets earned seeding in the second qualifying round of the Champions League last season and went on to advance through the third round after they defeated Slovan Bratislava on aggregate scores. While they were very successful against Partizan, they failed to continue their winning streak as they were prevented by Basel in the play-offs to continue with their UEFA campaign. As for their most recent performances, they quite suffer from inconsistency. The Eagles have only won twice from their last five matches (both clean sheets) and surrendered seven points to their rivals in the remainders.

Champions League betting tip: Liverpool and Ludogorets will both be able to find the net, but the hosts will ultimately dominate the scoring.
