Galatasaray achieved better accomplishments in the Champions League last season than Anderlecht but the latter have so far been more successful in their most recent campaigns for numerous competitions.

Galatasaray enjoyed moderate success in the last edition of the Champions League, finishing second in the Group stage and winning one of the two-legged matches in the Round of 16. They were beaten by Chelsea on aggregate scores which hindered them from participating in the tournament’s higher stages. In the past few weeks, however, the squad have been suffering from inconsistency, having failed to score a goal in their latest friendly as well as in the Turkish Super Cup. They, however, recently won against Bursaspor 0-2 in the Super Lig.

Last season, Anderlecht placed at the bottom of their group and were therefore deprived of a seeding in the tournament’s higher rounds as well as in the Europa League. Despite all their efforts, they only managed to seize one point from six fixtures, thanks to the draw they obtained against French squad PSG. In their 17 most recent matches, however, Paars-wit have been unbeaten. Their wins include a 0-2 away rout at Liege in a friendly, a 2-1 domination over Lokeren in the Super Cup, and a 3-1 home debut against Mouscron-Péruwelz in the Belgian Pro League.

Champions League betting tip: Galatasaray will kick off their Group stage campaign with a win against Anderlecht.
